Climbing on Dartmoor

Although not known for its peaks or dramatic technical terrain, Dartmoor is home to a plethora of different climbs and even more boulders. The approach to the climbs are usually short and offer a playground of climbing adventure.

Most of the climbing on Dartmoor is traditional climbing or ‘Trad’. This is where you need to take up your own protection to break a fall. Below is the lead climber ‘Racking up’

Jamie: a good friend of mine who I learnt to climb with. Having someone you trust to belay you is an important part of climbing and when embarking on more consequential routes that belayer/climber relationship is more important.
